| One of my greatest pleasures involves my art work. I enjoy creating oil paintings, drawing with graphite and colored pencils, and taking tons of photographs. Close-up photography in nature has wonderful rewards. It forces you to really take the time to stop and, not only smell the roses, but examine the many parts that make up that rose. Your mind can then see the beauty of each part individually, after you have already witnessed the beauty of it as a whole. I earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Art Studio & Music and Master of Fine Arts in Creative Photography & Photo-Journalism. College courses can only teach you the fundamentals of art. They can not teach creativity. They can not teach practice and experience. These are the responsibility of the artist. "Practice Makes Perfect", but then you practice some more. This practice gives you experience. Creativity is what sets aside the works of one artist from another. Creativity is unique. It helps the artist to develop a recognizable style. You can never complete your art training. Each new drawing, or painting, or photograph is one more lesson. Something new can be learned each and every day. And, regardless of what the world might say, you CAN teach an old dog new tricks. I hope that you enjoy previewing my work. Some work shown on this site has been sold, some is available for sale, and others, well they are the ones that I simply won't part with. If you are interested in the possibility of owning one of my originals, feel free to contact me via mail, e-mail, phone or fax. Thanks to all of you for taking the time to stop by. The art work will be changing periodically, so keep checking in! Have a Magical Day! Sharon Jordan Inman |
